By The SU7 is the first model of Xiaomi in the electric vehicle segment and it has been a tremendous success for the Chinese market as they have received over 75,000 orders within just 28 days of its launch in China. This milestone underscores the significant interest and demand for Xiaomi’s debut automobile, which has garnered attention worldwide since its unveiling in late 2023. CEO Lei Jun, in a social media post, shared the remarkable achievement, highlighting the SU7’s popularity among consumers. A key factor driving interest in the SU7 is its competitive pricing, ranging from RMB 215,900 to RMB 299,900, (Around Rs. 24 to Rs. 34 Lakh) making it accessible to a broader market segment.
Deliveries of the SU7 have already commenced, with Xiaomi having delivered 5,781 vehicles to date. Notably, 79 per cent of owners regularly utilize Xiaomi Pilot, the car’s autonomous driving feature, reflecting consumer trust in the brand’s technological prowess. Jun also revealed that 28 per cent of SU7 orders came from female customers, signalling a significant presence of women in the EV market. Xiaomi aims to further increase female ownership to 40-50 per cent in the future. Interestingly, a notable portion of orders originated from customers previously owning luxury cars from renowned brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi, underscoring the SU7’s appeal across diverse consumer demographics.
Moreover, a significant proportion of bookings came from customers with Apple products, indicating a crossover of consumer base from Xiaomi’s tech competitors. The SU7 boasts impressive performance features, including Xiaomi’s ‘Super Motor’ capable of reaching 21,000 rpm. With variants like the SU7 Max featuring dual motors, the car achieves remarkable acceleration, reaching 0-100 kmph in as little as 2.78 seconds. Furthermore, the SU7 offers a substantial range, with the entry model providing up to 668 Km and the SU7 Max boasting an impressive 800 Km on a single charge. The car’s fast-charging capabilities also stand out, with the SU7 Max regaining 220 km of range in just five minutes from an ultra-fast charger.
