By Jeep officially launched the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee in India exactly one year back. Now the American manufacturer is offering big discounts with the Grand Cherokee as part of the year-end offers. The Grand Cherokee now comes with a Rs. 11.85 lakh discount, which is big and this is the first time, Jeep is offering such huge discounts on any product in the Indian market. The company hasn’t specified the break-up on discounts offered but it could include corporate discounts, exchange bonuses and other cash benefits but it will be available only till December 31st.
The Grand Cherokee is available in a single-fully loaded variant as the company offers just the petrol engine option as earlier models were offered with diesel engines too. The fifth generation model in the Indian market gets a 5-seater option only. The Grand Cherokee is powered by a 2.0 L turbocharged petrol engine with 272 hp of power and 400 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, sending power to all four wheels. The SUV has different driving modes – Auto, Sport, Mud/Sand and Snow.
The exterior design theme of the fifth-generation model is similar to what we have seen on the earlier Grand Cherokee models as it has become an iconic design with a signature Jeep seven-slat grille at the front with LED headlamps. The rear gets LED tail lamps and the company is offering the SUV in four different colour options. The interior is loaded with features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and another 10.1-inch unit integrated into the dashboard. The instrument cluster is a 10.25-inch unit while the head-up display is also a 10-inch unit.
