After a lengthy teaser campaign and years of waiting by Pulsar fans, Bajaj has finally launched the most powerful version of the Pulsar series in India. The Pulsar NS400Z is the new name and it follows the design footsteps of the OG NS series, which still looks modern even in 2024. Let’s talk about the heart of the Pulsar NS400Z as it uses the same 373 cc single-cylinder engine from the Dominar and it produces 40 hp of power at 8,800 rpm and 35 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Bajaj has given slip and assist clutch for the Pulsar NS400Z. The company might have made some changes to the engine and the NS400Z’s top speed is 154 kph, which is par among competitors. One of the major differences when compared to the regular NS series of Pulsar models is that NS400Z comes with underbelly exhaust, unlike the conventional exhaust on the Dominar series. The fuel tank capacity of the Pulsar NS400Z is 12 litres and the overall weight of the motorcycle is 174 kg, which makes it significantly lighter than Dominar.
The Pulsar NS400Z comes with 43 mm upside-down golden forks which gives a unique look to the motorcycle while the braking duties are taken care of by 320 mm single disc at the front and 230 mm disc at the rear. The company has given four riding modes – Sport, Rain, Road and Off-Road along with three levels of traction control and switchable ABS modes. The instrument cluster is fully digital and the switch gear is different from other Pulsar models. The most striking part is that NS400Z is priced at Rs. 1.85 Lakh (Introductory, Ex-Showroom).
