MG Hector Plus Unofficial Bookings Started, Launch Soon

MG is going to launch the new Hector Plus in India soon. According to a new report, some dealerships have started accepting bookings for the Hector Plus unofficially as the company has confirmed earlier that launch plan of future products won’t be delayed due to COVID-19 and the ZS EV is also now available across more cities in India as initially the electric SUV sales were limited to few cities mainly metros.

The Hector Plus made its global debut at the 2020 Auto Expo and the model carries some changes compared to regular Hector as the front get revised grille with the black finish while the headlamps have been tweaked for a refreshed look. The British manufacturer hasn’t made any changes for the side as the alloy wheels are carried over from the 5-seater model while the rear gets tweaked bumper along with LED tail lamps.

The interior design theme is similar to regular model but MG has tweaked the infotainment system as earlier one was laggy and this one features a new software too. MG is offering lots more connected car features along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. MG Hector Plus is expected to be available only in 6-seater configuration with captain seats in the middle as they are focusing on space instead of outright capacity.

MG Hector Plus will be powered by the same engines from Hector. The 2.0 L diesel engine from FCA produces 170 PS and 350 Nm while the petrol engine is the 1.5 L turbocharged unit with 143 PS and 250 Nm. The petrol engine is available with a mild-hybrid system and it is available only with 6-speed manual gearbox while the other engine gets a DCT option too. MG is likely to pitch the Hector Plus as a competitor to the Toyota Innova Crysta.
