By Mercedes Benz is starting the new year by adding the premium and stylish convertible to its lineup, the gorgeous AMG E 53 4 Matic + Cabriolet Launched in India at Rs. 1.30 Crore (Ex-Showroom). It’s been quite a few years since a convertible from Mercedes is missing from the India lineup. However, Mercedes brought back the four-seater two-door E-class Cabriolet with more elegance and power for 2023. The E 53 Cabriolet is the fourth car in the country to hold 53 badging and it is one of the prettiest-looking convertibles in the country
It has got the grace and the looks that are large enough for an enthusiast to sweep off his feet. The E 53 is essential, an E53 coupe redesigned to accommodate the soft top electronic convertible roof. The E 53 Cabriolet is built on the Mercedes MRA platform that measures 4826 mm in length, 2054 mm in width and 1427 mm in height. The vehicle’s exterior styling is very impressive. It has got an aggressive front end and the introduction of the new Panamericana grille largely helps in the aggressive front end look which conveys the vehicle has got the power under the hood.
The distinctive LED headlamps fitted to the corner make the vehicle look wider. The AMG-specific front bumper has got a very distinct look with the fake air vents and a large air intake at the bottom of the front bumper. However, the lower lip of the front bumper also features an element slightly elongated forward which will mildly help in better downforce and air intake. The hood is essentially long and has got sharp muscle lines.
Over the side, the E 53 Cabriolet features clean lines and the elongated door looks really beautiful with curved side fenders and multispoke alloy wheels. The rear of the vehicle is very neatly laid out and the rear has got the sexiest styling in the E 53 Cabriolet with wrapped-around taillights and quad exhaust. The Cabriolet has got a boot space of 296 litres but when the roof is opened the boot space will be slightly eaten up as the roof folds to the boot.
The interior of the cabin is also as hot as the exterior with a beautifully laid out dashboard that features the signature Mercedes dual-screen setup integrating the infotainment display and instrument cluster. The infotainment system runs the latest MBUX user interface. The vehicle features AMG specific flat bottom 3-spoke steering wheel that has dedicated dials that allow changing settings quickly. The centre dashboard gets turbine-like air-con vents and the centre console is equipped with climate controls and a touchpad for the MBUX infotainment. Since the car is a performance vehicle it gets AMG-specific sports seats.
The interior of the AMG E53 is defined by its 12.3-inch touchscreen that comes as standard with Merc’s latest MBUX operating system. You can control this system via the touchpad on the centre console, voice commands, or the steering wheel controls. The e53 comes standard with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging, and Burmester audio. System.
The AMG E53 4 Matic + Cabriolet will be powered by the 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is seen in the E 53 sedan and GLE 53 coupe-SUV, which produces 435hp with an integrated starter generator, which makes an additional 21hp and 520 Nm of torque, which is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. It also gets dynamic select driving modes and AMG’s Ride Control+ air suspension, and the AMG E class cabriolet will be equipped with the brand’s 4 Matic + all-wheel drive system.
