By Maruti Suzuki has made the global debut of the Jimny 5 door at the 2023 auto expo. Maruti Suzuki Jimny was a very anticipated model in the country. Even though the 3 door Jimny was on sale before outside India. The manufacturer did not consider to bring the 3 door Jimny to India. Hence after a very long wait the manufacturer has unveiled the exclusive 5 door Jimny in India and to the world. So far the manufacturer has sold 3.2 million Jimny across 199 countries and regions all over the world and now the name plate is carried forward to the 5 door Jimny.
The SUV is very proven off-roader and it is built on proper rugged body on frame chasis. The SUV comes with rugged body shape with a slightly elongated wheelbase to accommodate the second door over the side. The 5-door Jimny measures 3,985 mm in length, 1,645 mm in width, and 1,720 mm in height, and its wheelbase is 2,590 mm. The car offers a ground clearance of 210 mm.The front fascia and the rear of the vehicle remains same as the 3 door Jimny. Only difference that can be seen is the extra door added over the side. Rest everything and every side look the same.
Over the interior the vehicle features the same design language that of the 3 door Jimny and the space inside the vehicle is considerably big compared to the 3 door. The vehicle is powered by the K 15 petrol engine that produces 103 hp and 134 Nm of torque. The SUV is equipped with both 5 speed manual and 4 speed automatic gear options coming with Suzuki’s All Grip Pro AWD system. The driver can select between two-wheel drive high (2H), used for normal driving conditions, four-wheel drive high (4H), for mild off-road or slippery conditions and four-wheel drive low (4L) for hardcore off-road conditions with the All Grip Pro four-wheel drive tech. The booking of the vehicle will commence today itself. And the price of the vehicle will announce later.
