Maruti Suzuki Crash Test Cars Before Launched In Market

Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest car manufacturer in terms of volume but the company is not known for safety as most of the cars have performed poorly in crash tests which has hampered its reputation. Now the Indo-Japanese manufacturer has released Internal crash test videos of both Fronx and Brezza revealing that the company is making serious efforts to improve the safety of its passenger cars. This footage gives a rare glimpse of what goes behind the scenes to improve the safety of a particular vehicle.

The company hasn’t released any safety ratings for both these particular models as they are tested internally. According to Maruti Suzuki, more than 50 crash tests are conducted before the model is introduced in the market. The company conducts both frontal and side crash tests as these are the tests which are conducted by both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP. In the front impact test, we can see how the crumble zone works as it is designed to absorb the impact and protect the passenger cabin.

Maruti uses specially calibrated dummies for crash tests as they want to study the impacts on humans during the crash. The results of these crash tests are used to develop the products better and to improve the overall safety. If we look at the current-generation Baleno and the previous version, Maruti Suzuki has made lots of changes, especially to the structure to improve safety and they were very vocal about it also. We are expecting these new generation models from Maruti Suzuki to score well during the crash tests.
