Kia To Launch Next-Generation Carnival In 2024

Kia India is planning to re-introduce the Carnival name in India as the company discontinued the third-generation model after reaching its life cycle. The Carnival was first introduced in February 2020 and it instantly became a huge success for the company. The new generation model was showcased in India as K4 at the 2023 Auto Expo but this is not the model that is coming to India as globally Kia is working on an update for the Carnival and K4 is the codename for the fourth-generation model. The third-generation model was already on sale which is why another reason for not calling it Carnival.

The fourth-generation model was already on sale for three years and Indian management doesn’t want to bring the old model to the Indian market like earlier which is why the launch has been postponed to 2024. The facelift model of the Carnival is expected to make its global debut sometime towards the end of this year. The prototypes of the updated Carnival have been spotted in South Korea several times and from the images, the company is expected to make lots of design changes to make the model in line with other new Kia models.

The design has been inspired by the EV9 as the front gets an updated Tiger nose grille along with new LED headlamps and bumper. The changes to the side could include new alloy wheels and minor sheet metal changes. The changes to the rear include new LED tail lamps similar to the new Seltos. Kia is also expected to make some changes to the interior to make it more premium and we could see more tech also. The engine lineup is currently not confirmed and the price will be definitely higher than the outgoing model and it will be positioned as a premium alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross.
