By Kia officially released the first teaser of the Tasman Pickup truck as it will be the first time the Korean manufacturer is entering this segment. The Tasman breaks ground with its robust, boxy design, signalling Kia’s bold venture into the rugged terrain of the pickup market. Wrapped in camouflage, the Tasman teases enthusiasts with its imposing presence. Sporting a design characterized by sharp lines and muscular features, the Tasman presents a departure from Kia’s traditional aesthetic.
Notably absent are the soft curves typically associated with the brand, replaced instead by a more utilitarian and aggressive stance. At the front, the Tasman boasts a distinctive grille with five vertical slats, hinting at its commanding presence on the road. Flanking this are vertically stacked headlamps, featuring integrated LED daytime running lights that add a touch of modernity to the rugged design. Moving along the sides, muscular wheel arches and a kinked glass house further accentuate the Tasman’s muscular profile.
Inside, the Tasman offers a spacious double cab layout, catering to the needs of both drivers and passengers. While specifics regarding the interior features remain undisclosed, Kia’s reputation for blending comfort and functionality suggests a well-appointed cabin awaits. Under the hood, Kia has confirmed the inclusion of a diesel engine, likely a 2.2-litre unit similar to those found in other Kia and Hyundai models such as the Carnival and Santa Fe. While exact performance figures remain under wraps, the Tasman is poised to deliver capable performance both on and off the road. Set to debut in 2025, the Kia Tasman Pickup Truck marks the Korean automaker’s foray into the competitive pickup segment. Targeting key markets such as Korea, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East, Kia aims to challenge established players like the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, and Volkswagen Amarok.
