By 2023 has been a great year for most automobile manufacturers as the initial slow led to a fantastic festival season followed up with a year-end rush also. Hyundai officially announced that the company sold more than six lakh units in the calendar year 2023 and to be specific to 6,02,111 units, which is the highest ever for the company in domestic sales. This record sales figure has been achieved thanks to the performance of models like the Creta, Venue followed by new launches like the Exter is also performing extremely well.
When compared to calendar year 2022, the company sold 5,52,511 units, which is an increase of 9 per cent and one of the reasons for the high numbers is that the annual production capacity has been increased by 50,000 units at its Chennai plant. The 9 per cent growth of Hyundai is more than the Industry growth of 8.2 per cent. The company has also posted steady growth in exports as in CY2023, the Korean manufacturer exported 1,63,675 units compared to 1,48,300 units in CY2022.
As we said earlier, December has been a great month for the auto Industry and Hyundai sold 42,750 units. The company exported 13,700 units last month too. Hyundai is gearing up to introduce the much-awaited Creta facelift in India and the launch will take place on January 16th. The Creta has been consistently the best-selling model of the company in India for a long time and the introduction of the new model is expected to increase the sales. Apart from the Creta, Hyundai is expected to introduce more premium models too.
