Maruti Suzuki Sold More Than 2 Million Vehicles In CY2023

Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest car manufacturer in volume. The company has revealed that the 2023 calendar year sales crossed more than 2 million vehicles, which is a big milestone as sales have improved among most of the segments and the annual exports crossed 2.69 lakh units. December 2023 has been a great month for Maruti Suzuki as the company has managed to sell 1,37,551 units among them 1,06,492 units sold in the Domestic segment, 26,884 units for exports and 4175 units for other OEMS.

If we look at the sales break, the mini and compact segment contributed 48,298 units, the models in these segments include Alto, S-Presso, Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR. If we look at the sales numbers individually the entry-level models are not performing at the same level as in previous years as customers tend to spend more money on the premium models and top-end variants are preferred by most of them. The Baleno, Swift and Wagon R are performing well and bring in consistent numbers.

In the mid-size sedan segment, Maruti has just the Ciaz and sales have been consistently dropping as the company managed to sell just 489 units last month. In the utility vehicle segment, Maruti sold 45,957 units in December 2023 as this segment includes Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, S-Cross, and XL6. In the van segment, Maruti Suzuki sold 10,034 units of the Eco and in the light commercial vehicle segment, the company has just the Super Carry as sales stood at 1714 units.
