By Hyundai India has made significant changes to its popular subcompact SUV, the Venue, with the introduction of the 2023 model. Earlier this month, the South Korean automaker unveiled the updated Venue with prices starting at Rs. 10.32 lakh (ex-showroom), and the most notable change is the return of the manual transmission option for the turbo-petrol engine. However, with this reintroduction, Hyundai has decided to discontinue the iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) variants.
The Hyundai Venue iMT was known for its convenience and driving experience, offering a unique blend of manual control with the ease of an automatic clutch. It was available in three variants: S(O) 1.0 Turbo, SX(O) 1.0 Turbo, and SX(O) 1.0 Turbo dual-tone. Now, these variants are exclusively equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. But the changes don’t stop there. Hyundai has also expanded the manual transmission option to its Venue N-Line, which was previously only available with a DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) unit. Now, customers can opt for the six-speed manual transmission in the N6, N8, and N8 dual-tone variants, offering a more engaging driving experience for enthusiasts.
In addition to the Venue updates, Hyundai recently launched the i20 facelift in India, starting at Rs. 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The i20 facelift has undergone significant updates both inside and out and is currently offered with a 1.2-litre NA (Naturally Aspirated) petrol engine. However, enthusiasts can anticipate the return of the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine in the i20 in the near future, adding more excitement to Hyundai’s lineup. With these updates, Hyundai aims to continue its success in the highly competitive Indian automotive market. Moreover, the i20 facelift’s expected turbo-petrol engine revival adds to the excitement for Hyundai enthusiasts in the coming months.
