Ford Endeavour Spotted In India For The First Time

Ford is planning to make a comeback in the Indian automobile sector even though the American manufacturer has yet to formally announce anything. Recently the company filed a design patent for the Endeavour in India, now the model has been spotted for the first time near Chennai. The Endeavour which is also known as Everest in some International markets and the model spotted appears to be imported from Thailand or Australia. The Endeavour was transported on a flatbed truck, which could be for Internal training purposes.

The Endeavour is expected to be introduced by the end of this year or early this year as reports indicate that the American manufacturer initially plans to import models rather than assembling at its Chennai plant as it will take time to make necessary changes at the factory. But importing the SUV could make it more expensive compared to the competition and well it might not be able to reach its target audience. The Endeavour has a strong fan base across the country as earlier models are sold for really good prices at used car markets.

Ford hasn’t confirmed the engine that is coming for the Endeavour but the SUV could come with either a 2.0 L diesel engine or a 3.0 L diesel engine, which is already available in International markets. This engine could be mated to an automatic transmission as the manual option might not be introduced. Ford will introduce the Endeavour with a four-wheel drive option. Along with the Endeavour, we are expecting Ford to introduce the Mustang Mach-E which could be the first electric model of the company in India.
