By Diavel V4 is a power cruiser from Ducati and features the new V4 Granturismo engine that we saw earlier in the Multistrada V4. This 1158cc V4 has been tuned differently and produces 168bhp and 126Nm. The one on the Multistrada produces 2 extra horsepower but falla short by one 1Nm. With the previous Diavel being powered by an L-twin motor, this is the first time a V4 engine has been featured on a Diavel and should be a dream combination. We will find this out soon as I will be getting my hands on the new Diavel V4 in a couple days time.
The Diavel V4 has a 6 speed gearbox(with a bidirectional quick shifter) and also comes equipped with the cylinder deactivation system. This should make the motorcycle fuel efficient on highways and should also prove effective in managing the heat between the rider’s legs(it’s the rear two cylinders that gets deactivated). It also packs all the exotic flavours in terms of the chasis and suspension. For starters, it features the new aluminium monocoque chasis that shaves of 9 kilos from the one that it replaces(which used to be a trellis frame).
Then it features the single sided cast aluminium swingarm which let’s you see the beautiful rear diamond cut rims in its full glory. The suspension is fully adjustable and has a travel of 120mm at front and 145mm at the rear. The seat height stands at 790mm which is very welcome for a motorcycle that tips the scale at 236 kilograms. The exotic-ness continues in its design too with a quad-exit exhaust pipe setup that stands out. The overall lighting package is very fresh in terms of their design. The Diavel V4 is available in two colours, Ducati Red and Thrilling Black. It also packs in a host of features like 5 inch TFT dash, cruise control, six-axis IMU, cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, dynamic turn indicators, and bluetooth connectivity.
