By In a significant move towards sustainable urban transportation, Tata Motors has proudly delivered 400 cutting-edge Starbus EVs to the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), in partnership with its subsidiary, TML CV Mobility Solutions Ltd. This substantial delivery is part of a broader commitment to supply, maintain, and operate 1,500 low-floor, air-conditioned electric buses for an impressive 12-year period. This initiative aligns seamlessly with India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, as these zero-emission buses are proudly crafted within the nation, boasting a state-of-the-art architecture, cutting-edge features, and advanced battery systems. Their primary objective is to offer a safe, comfortable, and convenient means of intra-city commuting across the National Capital Territory of Delhi. With this latest deployment, Tata Motors celebrates a remarkable milestone, having supplied over 1,000 e-buses across the country.
The official induction and flag-off of this impressive fleet of 400 e-buses were carried out jointly by Shri. Vinai Kumar Saxena, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, and Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, on the 5th of September 2023. The event also saw the gracious presence of other esteemed dignitaries, including Shri Kailash Gahlot, Minister of Law, Revenue, Transport, Women & Child Development, Information Technology, and Administrative Reform for the Government of Delhi, Shri Naresh Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Delhi, Shri Ashish Kundra, Commissioner-cum-Principal Secretary (Transport) Government of Delhi, and Ms. Shilpa Shinde, IAS, Managing Director of DTC.
