Citroen C3 Electric Hatchback Spotted Again

The French brand Citroen is preparing to launch its first electric vehicle in the country C3 electric. The eC3 will be the electric version of the ICE hatchback C3 hence named as eC3. This will be the third vehicle from the brand in the country after the C5 Aircross SUV and C3 hatchback. This EV has great potential in the Indian market as it will be an entry-level electric vehicle. The eC3 electric hatchback is expected to make its debut in January followed by the delivery taking place sometime in March.

The C3 is a good affordable vehicle offered by the brand at a very good price point and C3 enabled many people to choose the brand for its uniqueness and features while the first offering from the French manufacturer C5 Aircross was targeted to the premium customers. The eC3 will be an interesting vehicle in the segment for the brand to start its Ev lineup. Tata Tiago EV is the only electric in the country that is offered under 10 lakh. If Citroen could price the eC3 competitively under 10 lakh it would largely take up the entry-level EV Market. Tiago has largely dominated the market as it is the only player and it was welcomed with 10 thousand bookings in the first 24 hours. People are quite fascinated by EVs. If Citroen could bring the eC3 with the advantage of extra features and range it will definitely make a buzz in the country.

The battery pack and the power figures of the eC3 are not revealed yet, but it is expected to get a 30.2 kWh battery pack. The electric motor fitted to the front axile will produce 86 bhp (63 kW) of max power and 143 Nm of torque. In comparison, Tiago EV medium-range variants have 19.2 kWh batteries whereas long-range variants have 24 kWh battery packs. The top-spec variant with a 24 kWh battery pack produces a maximum power of 74 bhp (55 kW) and 114 Nm of torque, which is lower than Citroen C3. The battery pack on eC3 is likely to use (LFP) Lithium Iron Phosphate cells that are considered safer, long-lasting and better suited for extreme weather conditions.
