By Land Rover recently introduced the fifth generation Range Rover Sport in India and the first Sport in India was taken by our superhero Tovino Thomas. The British manufacturer has packed lots of technologies into the new Sport. But can the new Range Rover Sport V8 beat the previous generation Range Rover Sport SVR. The new Range Rover Sport V8 is powered by a 4.4 L V8 engine with 523 hp and 750 Nm of torque while the SVR heart is the 5.0 Supercharged V8 engine producing 575 hp and 699 Nm of torque.
Even though the new Sport is down on power but the torque is slightly more than SVR, which will help during the initial phase and it is what exactly happened. The new Sport was able to hold the lead almost till the middle but then the SVR come past with ease but the difference is not enormous. Land Rover is working on the SVR version of the new Sport and it will certainly be a beast considering that the regular model can almost keep up with the old SVR. According to rumours, power could be as high as 617 hp on the new SVR. Let’s wait and see what the new Sport SVR can do.
