BS6 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Teased Ahead Of Launch

Isuzu officially teased the much-awaited BS6 variant of the D-Max V-Cross. The company is yet to confirm the date but some reports indicate that the launch might take place on May 8th but we are not sure about it as the current COVID situation is very bad across the country and it is an important model for the company so the launch might get delayed like most of the other manufacturers including Hyundai, Skoda, Mercedes Benz and more.

Some dealerships have also commenced unofficial bookings for the D-Max V-Cross and the booking amount is Rs. 1 lakh. The pickup will come to India in two different variants as V-Cross and Hi-Lander. This will be the first time Hi-Lander to be offered in the Indian market as it is positioned as an entry-level model compared to V-Cross. But we are not getting the facelift model available in International markets as the only thing that changed is the engine.

The BS6 variant is expected to come in two different trim levels – Z and Z-Premium. Some of the features of the new model include – Bi-Xenon LED headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, black-out B-pillar, fog lamps and LED tail lamps. Isuzu is also expected to offer some new colour options. The interior is expected to remain the same but the infotainment system might get an update to the latest software and along with a better touch-screen.

The 2.5 L diesel engine on the earlier model will be replaced with a new 1.9 L, unit producing 160 bhp at 3,600 rpm against 360 Nm of peak torque at 2,000-2,500 rpm. This engine is going to be mated to 6-speed manual gearbox on the base trim and V-Cross will also get the option of a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Isuzu won’t offer the four-wheel-drive system with a Hi-Lander variant as it is reserved for the V-Cross. We are expecting a small premium over the earlier model.
