BMW To Launch iX1 In India On September 28

BMW officially announced that the company is going to launch the new iX1 in India on September 28 and it is going to be the most affordable electric vehicle of BMW in India. The new-generation X1 made its debut at the BMW Joy Town festival and since then the company has received a really good response from prospective customers and the iX1 is likely to take it a notch above. The iX1 comes to India as a CBU model rather than CKD like its ICE counterpart but the company could take this route if demand is really good as the main competitor Volvo XC40 recharge is assembled in India which is going to be a major factor in pricing.

The exterior design theme of the iX1 is similar to the ICE X1 except for the closed grille and some blue elements on the exterior. The design still looks fresh as the company introduced the new generation of X1 in India earlier this year and it continues to be the best-selling model of BMW in India. We can expect BMW to offer multiple colour options for the iX1 in the Indian market along with customing options.

The interior also gets the same blue elements as the exterior and we could expect BMW to offer multiple colour options. The iX1 gets a 66.5 kWh battery pack with dual electric motors at each axle, the combined output is 313 hp and 495 Nm of torque. 0-100 kph in 5.6 sec and the WLTP range is 440 Km. The iX1 can be topped up using a 130 kW fast charger which can reduce charging time considerably. The iX1 is expected to be launched in India before the end of this year and the price could be around 65-70 lakh.
