BMW Is The Leading Luxury Car Manufacturer In April, 2021

BMW is once again leading the luxury segment in India for April 2021 as the company has managed to sell 557 units but the sales have come down a lot compared to March as the company sold 826 units. Mercedes Benz is close behind as the three-pointed star sold 536 units but they too follow the BMW trend in March 2021 they sold 812 units. Like all other manufacturers, the luxury segment is also facing the COVID-19 pandemic struggles.

Jaguar Land Rover continue its positive momentum as they got the third position and the British manufacturer sold 144 units, which is low compared to 214 units in March 2021. Volvo got the fourth position as they sold 86 units against the 96 units in March 2021. Audi continues to struggle in the Indian market as the German manufacturer is only offering petrol models and in April 2021 the company sold just 75 units from 93 units in March 2021.

Porsche sold 23 units in April 2021 compared to 34 units in March 2021. But the 911 maker is registering good growth in the Indian market as the company has managed to sell one Panamera each week. They will continue to push for positive growth as VW Group is planning to set up five more Porsche dealerships across the country and expanding the service networks, which will give confidence for more customers to invest in the brand.

Even in these tough times, Lamborghini sold 5 units compared to 4 units in March 2021 as they are the only premium manufacturer in India to register positive Month-On-Month growth thanks to the Urus SUV. While Rolls Royce and Ferrari haven’t managed to sell a single unit last month but it was expected. The numbers are likely to be low in May also as many states across the country are in lockdown mode to reduce COVID cases.
