By BMW officially launched the i5 M60 xDrive in India at the starting price of Rs 1,19,50,000 (ex-showroom). The i5 will come to India in the top-spec M60 xDrive variant, which offers additional power and performance along with an all-wheel-drive system and it is basically the electric version of the 5 Series sedan, which is going to be launched later this year. The i5 comes to India via the CBU route and as we reported earlier, the German manufacturer will be offering the electric sedan with a standard wheelbase while the 5 Series comes with a long wheelbase.
The M60 xDrive comes with an 81.2 kWh battery pack and two electric motors on each axle. The combined power output is 601 bhp of power and 820 Nm of torque. The performance numbers are really good as 0-100 kph comes up in 3.8 sec and the top speed is 230 kph. Even with impressive performance, the i5 comes with a good range of 516 km. The battery can be easily topped up using a 205 kW charger as it takes just 30 minutes to reach 80 per cent from 10 per cent. BMW also offers an 11 kW AC charger and it can be upgraded to a 22 kW AC charger.
The exterior design theme of the i5 is similar to the 5 Series as the EV model gets an illuminated kidney grille and it comes equipped with adaptive LED headlamps featuring twin boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, a sleek body kit with M-specific touches, and a 20-inch M light alloy wheels complemented by vibrant red brake calipers and an M rear spoiler, this EV exudes sportiness. The interior is dominated by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additional highlights include a panoramic sunroof, a premium Bowers & Wilkins audio setup, and an M leather steering wheel, enhancing both comfort and luxury.
