BMW Eye Activated Lane Change Technology To Be Launched In March

BMW has already announced several new features and technologies that are going to be introduced in models later this year. One of those new feature is the new groundbreaking Eye-Activated Lane Change Technology which is going to be introduced in March 2024. BMW’s ‘Eye-Activated Lane Change’ technology is a pioneering advancement in automotive engineering. This cutting-edge system integrates the existing Active Lane Change feature with innovative eye activation technology, allowing drivers to effortlessly initiate lane changes simply by directing their gaze towards the corresponding side mirror.

The concept is simple yet revolutionary. With Active Lane Change with eye activation, the vehicle proposes a lane change, and the driver can confirm the maneuver by merely glancing at the corresponding outside rearview mirror. The system seamlessly executes the necessary steering adjustments without the need for manual confirmation via the turn signal. This intuitive interaction between the driver and the Active Lane Change feature sets a new standard for comfort and safety in the automotive sector.

Initial reports indicate that the Eye-Activated Lane Change Technology will debut on the new 5-Series, scheduled for release in March 2024, followed closely by the iX model. Subsequently, BMW plans to extend this innovative technology to other vehicles in its lineup, including the X5, X6, and X7, with an anticipated rollout scheduled for the following month. The German manufacturer is planning to launch the new-generation 5 Series in India later this year and for the first time, we are getting the long-wheelbase model too.
