Ather Rizta Electric Scooter Launch On April 6

Ather is going to launch the much-awaited Rizta electric scooter in India on April 6. The company has already released several teasers of the Rizta as it is going to be a family scooter which is completely different from what the Indian start-up currently has. One of the highlights of the Rizta electric scooter is going to be its seat which is much bigger than any of its competitors according to Ather. The Rizta is targeted at family buyers as it could take on conventional scooters. The LED headlamp is likely to be positioned on the body rather than on the handlebar.

In the previous teaser, Tarun Mehta, CEO of Ather Energy, compared the seat of the Rizta with that of a competitor, noting its width that can comfortably accommodate most Indians, as evident from the images. One notable observation so far is the spacious footwell, providing ample room for average Indian groceries. The handlebar, positioned slightly higher than most traditional scooters, offers a comfortable riding stance. The mirrors feature a simple design theme, and the covered belt drive provides better protection compared to the 450 series.

The forthcoming scooter deviates from some other electric two-wheelers on the market by not having a hub-mounted motor, which might have lowered costs for Ather. However, the company aims for premium pricing, leveraging features like LED headlamps, tail lamps, and indicators. Anticipate a similar instrument cluster to the 450 Series, enriched with numerous connected features. Ather has yet to disclose the battery specifications and range. We can expect the company to price the model aggressively against the competition.
