Volvo officially launched the XC40 Recharge Single Motor variant in India at the starting price of Rs. 54.95 lakh (Ex-Showroom). The E60 variant is positioned strategically below its dual-motor counterpart, the XC40 Recharge E80 (Ultimate), which comes at Rs 57.9 lakh, ex-showroom. The XC40 Recharge E60, also known as the ‘Plus’ on the Volvo India website, offers a compelling blend of performance, features, and safety.
Despite lacking some amenities present in the dual-motor model like Pixel LED headlamps, fog lamps, and a Harman Kardon sound system, the E60 variant boasts an impressive array of features including an 8-speaker sound system, two-zone climate control, a 12-inch digital driver’s display, and a 9-inch infotainment unit. In terms of safety, the XC40 Recharge E60 doesn’t disappoint, continuing Volvo’s tradition of prioritizing occupant protection. With 7 airbags and an advanced driver assistance suite featuring lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, cross-traffic alerts, and rear collision warning, Volvo ensures peace of mind for its occupants.
Under the hood, the XC40 Recharge E60 packs a punch with its 238hp and 420Nm output, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100kph in 7.3 seconds and achieve a top speed of 180kph. The SUV is powered by a 69kWh Lithium-ion battery pack, offering a WLTP range of 475km, making it a practical choice for daily commutes and long-distance travel alike. In the Indian electric vehicle market, the Volvo XC40 Recharge E60 faces competition from other rear-wheel-drive EVs like the BYD Seal Dynamic, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and the Kia EV6 GT Line.
