These Mahindra Cars Will Bid Goodbye From April 2023

Mahindra will be discontinuing the Alturas G4, Marazzo, and KUV 1OO. The Indian manufacturer known for its SUVs around the world is going through its peak time with the highest sales and booking over its flagship SUVs, The XUV7OO, Scorpio & the brand’s recreational offroader Thar. These 3 SUVs are in high demand and the carmaker is struggling to meet the demand. Hence the SUVs – Alturas G4, Marazzo, and KUV1OO will be discontinued from the brand’s lineup due to their low demand.

Mahindra Alturas G4 is basically a rebadged version of the second-generation SsangYong Rexton that made its debut internationally in 2017. The Alturas G4 is large and has an imposing presence of a rugged SUV. Mahindra Alturas G4 comes powered by a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine which delivers a maximum output of 181 bhp and 420 Nm of peak torque. The engine was coupled with Mercedes-sourced 7-speed automatic transmission. It was offered 2 models – AWD and RWD.

Mahindra Marazzo was the Multi seater MUV offered by the brand. The Marazzo was built on body-on-frame chassis and the engine is placed transversely giving power to the front wheel. The Marazzo was powered by a 1.5 Litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 120 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. The Marazzo was a completely new vehicle with a new engine and new design architecture. However, people didn’t find any enthusiasm for the Marazzo.

Mahindra KUV1OO was the brand’s entry-level SUV. Mahindra first debuted the KUV 100 back in 2016 and at the time it was one of the first SUVs of this size to be launched in the country. The KUV1OO was powered by a 1.2 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 82 bhp and 115 Nm of torque. Despite India’s obsession with SUVs it did not manage to garner a lot of interest among buyers, and the sales gradually slumped.
