The Awaited Revelation: Bajaj’s Biggest Pulsar Yet – The NS400

Bajaj Auto has set the stage for its biggest Pulsar yet, the highly anticipated Bajaj Pulsar NS400. After a prolonged wait of 11 years since the introduction of the Pulsar NS200 and nearly seven years since the Bajaj Dominar 400 made its debut, the Indian motorcycle manufacturer is gearing up to unleash its latest offering, expected to hit the market next year. What’s intriguing is that the Bajaj Pulsar NS400 will utilize the existing perimeter chassis found in the NS200, a platform known for its ability to handle more power than the 200’s 25hp output.

While the chassis will undergo strengthening and modifications to accommodate the larger engine, the size and dimensions are anticipated to remain similar to the current Pulsar NS200. This not only contributes to agility but is also expected to result in a lower weight than the Dominar’s 193kg. Under the hood, the NS400 will inherit the 373cc powerplant from the Dominar, producing a respectable 40hp, which is on par with the Triumph Speed 400 and the third-gen KTM 390 Duke. Paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slip-assist clutch, this engine promises spirited performance for the upcoming NS400.

In terms of design, while specific changes remain undisclosed, it’s expected that the NS400 will maintain the family resemblance of the existing NS lineup. Motorcycle enthusiasts are hoping for more than just a fresh set of stickers, as the NS design has remained largely unchanged for over a decade. However, the NS200 did receive a USD fork in India, giving it a more muscular appearance, which is likely to continue with the NS400. As for features, possibilities include connectivity options and an LED headlamp. Despite these potential additions, the Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is expected to be positioned below the Dominar 400, which currently retails for around Rs 2.3 lakh. This competitive pricing strategy will position the NS400 as the most affordable 40hp, 400cc motorcycle in the Indian market, making it an enticing option for riders seeking both power and affordability. Motorcycle enthusiasts eagerly await the official launch of this new addition to the Pulsar family.
