Tata Nexon EV Facelift Officially Revealed

Tata Motors has unveiled the refreshed Nexon EV, scheduled to hit the market on September 14th, with pricing information set to be revealed on the same day. While the new model retains a resemblance to the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) version, there are notable differentiating changes. The updated Nexon EV features a connecting LED light strip on the front fascia, and the bumper design has been tweaked. The dynamic LED lights offer welcome and goodbye sequences, along with charging indication, adding a touch of sophistication. Similarly, the rear lights provide welcome and goodbye sequences. Buyers can choose from a range of stylish colors, including white, grey, teal, purple, and red.

Tata offers the Nexon EV in three distinct variants: Empowered, Fearless, and Creative. The highlight of the interior is the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is larger than the ICE version’s 10.25-inch unit. The digital cluster remains at 10.25 inches, and the two-spoke steering wheel features an illuminated logo and backlit buttons. The Nexon EV boasts an impressive list of features, including a 9-speaker JBL audio system with a subwoofer, access to OTT apps via Arcade.ev, wireless charging, wireless compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an air purifier, electronic parking brake, auto-dimming IRVM (Inside Rear-View Mirror), rain-sensing wipers, auto headlights, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and a sunroof, among others.

Safety is a top priority, with standard features like six airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), front parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, SOS call functionality, Blind Spot Monitor, Hill Ascent Control, Hill Descent Control, and all-disc brakes. Tata Motors has replaced the Prime and Max designations with Medium Range and Long Range variants for the new Nexon EV. The Medium Range variant is equipped with a 30kWh battery, while the Long Range variant features a 40.5kWh battery pack. These batteries provide an ARAI-claimed range of 325 km and 465 km, respectively, marking a 12 km increase over the outgoing Nexon EV.

One of the most exciting features of the Nexon EV facelift is its bi-directional charging capability, allowing for Vehicle to Vehicle and Vehicle to Load charging. This means you can charge other electric vehicles and electrical appliances using this technology. In terms of performance, the Medium Range electric powertrain delivers 129 HP and 215 Nm of torque, while the Long Range version produces 142 HP and 215 Nm of torque. Surprisingly, the power output remains consistent, with torque levels seeing a reduction of 30 Nm and 38 Nm, respectively. The Nexon EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in 8.9 seconds, with a top speed of 150 km/hr. It offers three driving modes (Eco, City, and Sport) and features a 4-level regeneration system, enhancing efficiency and driving dynamics.
