By Tata Motors showcased the Altroz Racer at the 2022 Auto Expo as the company positioned it as the sportiest version of the Altroz hatchback yet but the launch didn’t take place. Later the hatchback was again showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2023, which took place last month but notching much has been discussed about it. According to a new media report, Tata Motors is planning to launch the Altroz Racer in the coming weeks the exact date hasn’t been mentioned but we could see teasers on social media channels soon.
The model that was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2023 had some changes compared to the original version, which was revealed one year back. Let’s talk about the heart as it is the one that matters the most as the Altroz Racer is powered by a 1.2 L turbocharged petrol engine the company already offers it in the Altroz i-Turbo variant but this new Racer variant, produces 120 hp of power and 170 Nm of torque which is 10 hp and 30 Nm more than the i-Turbo but this is the same tuning which is available on the Nexon.
This engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual instead of a 5-speed manual and it is not expected to be offered with an automatic gearbox. The exterior differences include a revised front grille with minor changes for the bumper along with a dual-tone paint finish and new 16-inch alloy wheels. The interior changes start with a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a new digital instrument cluster as both get new software, ventilated seats, voice-assisted sunroof, head-up-display, contrasting stitching and more. We can expect Tata Motors to price the Altroz Racer at a premium.
