By Tata Motors is going to introduce the CNG version of the Altroz soon in the Indian market. According to reports, the company is planning to launch a new variant called XM+ (S) which will be positioned between XM+ and XT variants. This variant comes with all the features of XM+ along with some additional features like a shark fin antenna, a digital instrument cluster for the CNG version, a knitted roof liner and rain-sensing wipers.
The Altroz XM+ will be offered in all three engine options – 1.2 L Petrol, 1.5 L Diesel and CNG. The 1.2 L naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 87 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 15 Nm @ 3,250 rpm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Altroz is the only model in its segment to offer a diesel engine which is the 1.5 L unit with 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm @ 1,250-3,000 rpm. Tata Motors is yet to reveal the details of the CNG version.
