Tata Motors Sold 1,75,000 Units of Altroz Since Launch, More Variant To Be Launched Soon

The premium hatchback offering from Tata Motors the Altroz crossed over 1.75 lakh unit sales in three years since its launch in January 2020. The vehicle was a great success with phenomenon sales growth and it stands in the third position in the market behind Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20. The Altroz is offered in 31 variants with 3 engine options. The vehicle host many segment-class features that includes a wider cabin with 90-degree opening doors etc. Tata Motors always made their vehicle more strong and more capable to withstand any serious crashes hence the vehicle was rated 5 stars on the Global NCAP safety test. The growing concern about car safety and the futuristic design of the vehicle attracted many customers irrespective of age and gender.

Since the launch of the vehicle so far 3 years till December 2022, all around 1,76,596 units were sold. The carmaker was able to sell 50,000 units in the first year. In FY2021 total of 60,379 units were sold, followed by 62,247 units in FY2022. In the current fiscal, the Altroz is estimated to have sold 45,512 units between April-December 2022, with three months left to close FY2023. This translates into an average monthly sale of 5,056 units. The wider choices of variants and powertrains were the reason for the car’s immense growth. Altroz is offered in 2 petrol and 1 diesel engine.

The Altroz offered with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Tata gave different engine options to target different customers. Furthermore, Tata is adding up new variants to the lineup that includes the new CNG variant called the Altroz iCNG and also the sportier and more performance Altroz Racer variant which was showcased at the auto expo 2023. For the year Tata is going a little aggressive with its passenger mobility division to become the second-largest manufacturer in the country.
