By Tata Motors unveiled the new special edition named Red Dark edition of the flagship SUVs Tata Harrier and Safari at the 2023 auto expo. Tata SUVs have got a variety of special editions before and Tata always bring some extra features or tech with each special edition model. And for the Red Dark edition model Tata brought the SUVs with cosmetic changes inside and outside and with some added segment class features.
As the name indicates the SUVs comes with Red and Black colour combination. However the dominant colour over the exterior is the glossy black that is seen in the dark edition model. But in the new edition the vehicle gets some red inserts in the front grille and also the brake callipers are coloured red. The biggest change happened is in the interior. The vehicle gets contrasting red colour seats, red leatherette grab handles, grey trim on the dashboard, and piano black inserts on the steering wheel. And the very interesting update on the features of the vehicle is the new large 10.25 inch infotainment display, the vehicle also gets 360 degree camera.
The instrument cluster of the vehicle also gets updated to a digital system. Other features include an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function and ventilated front seats. The three-row Safari additionally comes with a ventilation function for the second row, powered front passenger seat with ‘Boss’ mode, which allows the rear passenger to move the seat ahead, and ambient lighting around the panoramic sunroof.
The vehicle also comes with ADAS tech. The ADAS tech in Harrier and Safari Red Dark editions includes Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), forward collision alert, lane assist, and traffic sign recognition, and to added safety features the Red Dark edition also comes with six airbags. under the hood the SUVs remain unchanged with the same 2.0 litre diesel engine that produces 167.67 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque which is mated to either 6 speed manual and automatic transmission.
