Rolls-Royce Dedicates 8,000 Hours to Craft Wood for Its Newest Droptail Model

Rolls-Royce’s commitment to luxury reaches new heights with the unveiling of the Droptail Arcadia, the latest masterpiece in their opulent lineup. As the third of four commissions planned for this ultra-exclusive roadster, the Arcadia exemplifies the pinnacle of bespoke craftsmanship and design. Named after the mythical paradise in Greek mythology, the Arcadia promises a serene sanctuary for its owner—a haven of luxury and relaxation amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Its exterior, bathed in a unique white hue infused with aluminium and glass particles, shimmers elegantly in the light, creating an aura of sophistication and grace.

Unlike its predecessors, the Arcadia boasts custom silver-painted carbon-fibre elements, adding a touch of exclusivity to its already exquisite design. The rear decklid, adorned with a curved wood-covered panel, echoes the timeless elegance that defines Rolls-Royce’s iconic aesthetic. Inside, the cabin envelops occupants in a world of refined luxury, with bespoke tan accents contrasting against the unique white upholstery inspired by the exterior colour. Wood trim, meticulously crafted and painstakingly assembled over 8,000 hours, adorns every surface, from the dashboard to the door panels, creating an ambience of unparalleled opulence.

One of the most striking features of the Arcadia is its meticulously crafted clock, a masterpiece in its own right. Two years in development and five months in assembly, the clock’s machined face boasts 119 facets, while the brand’s iconic double R logo is meticulously machined from billet stainless steel. Each hour marker, hand-painted with precision, is applied with the aid of a magnifying camera, ensuring perfection in every detail While the Droptail Arcadia prioritizes luxury over performance, its powertrain is no less impressive. Powered by Rolls-Royce’s twin-turbocharged 6.6-litre V12 engine, it delivers a commanding 593 horsepower and is delivered to its owner in Singapore.
