Renault Kiger EV spotted Ahead of Auto Expo Debut

Renault is preparing to bring its first EV into the country as the Kiger EV has been spotted testing. However, the electric Kiger is spotted at the production plant of electric start-up Pravaig in Bangalore. The future of automobile commutes will be powered by electricity hence the electric startup Pravaig might be the consultant for Renault on their transition to electric vehicles in India. The year 2023 is a very crucial year for the carmaker as they faced a terrible downfall in their sales last year and they got to discontinue their models and left with only 2 models.

The spotted Kiger EV is identical to the ICE Kiger on the exterior and interior. The charging socket of the vehicle is placed at the front logo. And the front grille gets the body colour treatment which differentiates it from the ICE model. Which is very neatly integrated and the interior is differentiated with the rotary gear selector instead of the gear liver. Rest everything is similar to the ICE model. As the vehicle is spotted in the Pravaig plant in Banglore it is expected that the vehicle might be powered by the electric motor and battery produced by the startup.

Another possibility of the Kiger EV powertrain will be the similar battery and electric motor that is on offer with Kwid EV in China. It gets a 26.8 kWh battery pack which will power the motor to deliver 44 hp and 125 Nm torque. The claimed range could be about 300 km. Considering Kiger is a bit bigger, it could accommodate a larger battery pack than the Kwid EV. This will help in delivering a higher range, of maybe 350 km. The vehicle will rival the Tiago EV and the upcoming punch EV and Citroen EC3.
