By Porsche is one of the fastest-growing premium sportscar makers in India and the German manufacturer is planning to focus more on India by expanding the dealership network. As part of the new plans, the 911 maker is going to launch the updated Macan and Cayenne GTS in the Indian market by the end of 2021. The pre-bookings are expected to begin in the festival season to keep the buzz around the brand and the delivery could begin in early 2022. The SUV models of Porsche is so popular in India.
The exterior tweaks for Macan are focused at the front with a redesigned bumper and updated headlamps while the alloy wheels are new and the rear gets a new bumper too. We can also expect Porsche to offer some new colour options on the Macan. But the changes on the interior are big as the model was starting to show its age when compared to other models and the company has updated the cabin as it follows the same design theme as the latest Cayenne and Panamera with a new infotainment system and touch-sensitive buttons.
The Macan will be available in three variants – Standard, S and GTS while the turbo model has been discontinued. The standard model is powered by a 2.0 L turbo petrol engine with 265 hp while the S model gets a 2.9 L V6 petrol engine producing 380 hp. The GTS is the most powerful in the lineup as it uses the same 2.9 L V6 engine but produces 440 hp and 559 Nm. This engine is mated to PDK gearbox and 0-100 kph in 4.3 sec. Porsche also offers torque vectoring and the suspension is tuned towards handling compared to other models.
One of the major changes for the Cayenne GTS is the introduction of a new engine as the earlier V6 engine has been replaced by a 4.0 L twin-turbo V8 petrol engine producing 460 hp and 620 Nm. The GTS model comes with torque vectoring plus an Active Suspension Management system to make the drive even more fun. When compared to other models in the Cayenne range, GTS come with tweaked design elements. The Cayenne is also available in standard SUV and SUV Coupe body style.
