MG Hector Plus Booking Opened, Launch Soon

MG officially opened the bookings for Hector Plus in India as customers can pay a token amount of Rs. 50,000 through the official website or via dealerships. The Hector Plus was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and the company received a positive response. The production of Hector Plus has already begun and the initial models have already reached dealership. The official launch is expected to take place later this month.

When compared to regular Hector, MG has made some changes as the front get redesigned grille with tweaked headlamps, which now includes floating light turn indicators and the front bumper is also new. The rear also gets a new bumper with updated LED tail lamps. The Hector Plus will retain LED front and rear lights along with dual-tone alloy wheels, shark fin antenna, LED DRLs and more. MG will also offer two new colour options – Starry Sky Blue and Aurora Silver.

The overall length has increased by 65 mm but the wheelbase remains the same. The major change for Hector Plus is in the interior as the new model gets 6-seat option with captain seats in the middle, which boost comfort. The second-row seats have a slide and recline function too. We are expecting a 7-seater model to be launched later this year. The features of Hector Plus is identical to the regular model but the 6-seater gets 8-colour ambient light option too.

MG is offering the Hector Plus with three engine options. The 2.0 L diesel engine produces 173 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. The petrol engine is a 1.5 L turbocharged unit producing 143 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The company is also offering a 48-volt mild-hybrid system with the petrol engine but it is available only with an automatic gearbox option. MG is likely to price the Hector Plus aggressively against the competition.
