Mercedes Benz GLC Bookings Officially Open, Launch On August 9

Mercedes Benz officially opened bookings for the second-generation GLC in India at Rs. 1.5 lakhs as some dealers were already taking bookings one month back as it was one of the best selling model of the three-pointed star in the Indian market. The company will announce the price of new GLC on August 9 and the expected starting price is around Rs. 70 lakh as deliveries are likely to commence by the end of next month.

The overall dimensions have increased as the length has gone up by 60 mm and the wheelbase by 15 mm, which will increase space inside the cabin. The height has decreased by 2 mm and the drag coefficient decreased to 0.29 from 0.31. The engineers optimised many parts like underbody panelling, wheels and wheel spoilers, roof spoiler and more to reduce the drag as it will improve efficiency also. The design theme of the new GLC is similar to C-Class with big grille upfront with new LED headlamps and tail lamps.

The interior is shared with the new C Class as the dashboard is dominated by an 11.9-inch screen placed vertically with the latest-generation MBUX software and the instrument cluster is a 12.3-inch unit as it is one of the best in the Industry. Mercedes has packed the GLC with lots of the latest tech and safety features. In India, Mercedes will offer two variants – GLC 300 petrol and GLC 220d Diesel as both these engines get 48V starter motors for additional assist.
