Mercedes Benz A-class sedan is expected to get a facelift soon in India. The A class is the brand’s entry-level sub-compact vehicle that is offered in both hatchback and sedan variants. In India, the A-class sedan is called the A-class limousine and it is the brand’s smallest sedan that sits below the C-Class in the line-up. The sedan replaces the CLA four-door coupe and it offers a more practical and spacious rear seat than its predecessor. It’s offered in three guises, the A 200 petrol, A 200d diesel, and the sporty AMG A 35, all three of which are locally assembled. It is the starting point of the Mercedes-Benz range in India.

The mid-life refresh of the A-class sedan is a good-looking car and has got a minor exterior update the front fascia is revised with new LED lights and new daytime running lights (DRLs). The details in the taillamps are considerably the only change at the rear. The interior remains the same, but it will be equipped with the latest-gen of the MBUX system. Moreover, there are changes under the hood with new plug-in hybrid variants on offer. The India- spec model is likely to continue with the existing 2.0-litre diesel engines, but the 1.3-litre petrol could get a mild-hybrid system.

The standard A-class sedan is powered by a 1.3-litre petrol engine that produces 160.92 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque which could probably get a mild hybrid system. whereas the 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 147 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. The performance trim of the A class- the sporty AMG A 35 is powered by a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 301 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque.
