McLaren Gulf Oil Special F1 Livery For Monaco GP Looks Stunning

McLaren and Gulf Oil announced its new strategic partnership last year and they are the exclusive fuel partner for the McLaren racing team. Now the company has revealed a special one-off Gulf Oil livery for the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend. The new livery will be used for the team kit, drivers overalls and helmets. The colour scheme looks stunning on the MCL35M and it certainly stands out from competitors especially in Monaco, which is a special place for everyone.

During the launch last year, both McLaren and Gulf Oil received an overwhelming response from the fans and many of them shared images of the F1 car with the iconic logo. So both the manufacturers decided to make them real and FIA demands that cars appear in substantially similar livery each race. Then the company had to present the special livery to FIA and get the approval, which they got it very easily as all of them loved it.

As of now, the special livery won’t feature in any other races. Both companies have been a partner for a very long time and the first partnership between both companies was in the 1960s as Gulf Oil helped Bruce McLaren with his efforts in F1. They have also raced in many other categories including the iconic LeMan series as Gulf Oil became popular among fans. They have shared so much success over the years and let’s hope the 2021 Monaco GP will see at least one driver with the special livery on the podium.

“I think everyone can agree it will be the best-looking car on the grid by a very long way, I said to Zak [Brown, CEO] that it was even better than our current livery. But he didn’t sound so convinced by that” Lando Norris Said. “Of course, I love it. It’s cool. I mean, I didn’t need another reason to get excited for Monaco. So I’ve got to control myself, save some energy for next weekend. But it’s awesome. And as long as you look good, that’s the first box you’ve got to tick. And we’re certainly doing that.” Daniel Riccardo Said.
