By Maruti Suzuki officially revealed the much-awaited new Jimny 5 door at the 2023 Auto Expo and the company has started accepting bookings for the lifestyle SUV via Nexa dealerships. Within just two days, Maruti Suzuki has received more than 3000 bookings for the Jimny 5 door, which has exceeded the expectations of the company itself and the waiting period is likely to be very long similar to the Mahindra Thar. Some reports suggest that bookings will easily cross 10,000 within this month.
If the SUV get bookings over 10,000 units the waiting period will go up by more than 1 year as Maruti is planning to produce 1000 units per month. Not only in India the vehicle is also preparing to be launched in international markets hence the manufacturer needs to sort out the issue of chip shortage and supply chain problems quicker to meet the demand of the people. Since it’s been one of the most anticipated models to launch in India, people welcomed it with great enthusiasm and now it’s the duty of the manufacturer’s duty to meet the people’s needs and start delivering the vehicle on time.
The Jimny 5 door comes with modern tech and a traditional boxy-like design. The traditional design of the vehicle is cute with the overall propositions of the vehicle. Jimny 5-door is equipped 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and connected car technologies. It will also get automatic climate controls, power windows, keyless entry and power folding ORVMs, rear parking sensors, 6 airbags, ABS and EBD as a part of its safety features. Cabin space will be at a premium over its 3-door version with added boot space as well. The vehicle is powered by a 1.5 litre K15C DualJet petrol engine that produces 102 hp power at 6,000 rpm and 137 Nm torque at 4,400 rpm mated to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission options. It will also get Suzuki’s AllGrip all-wheel drive setup as standard.
