Maruti Jimny AT Variants Continue to Shine: High Demand and Impressive Sales

Since its highly anticipated launch in June 2023, Maruti Suzuki’s Jimny AT variants have been enjoying a remarkable surge in demand. Unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo with bookings opening on January 17, the compact SUV has quickly gained popularity and traction in the Indian market. The automaker, renowned for its commitment to quality and affordability, has been swift in delivering on customer expectations. To date, Maruti Suzuki has successfully produced 14,500 units of the Jimny, and an impressive 10,000 of these have already found their way to delighted customers.

The company remains steadfast in its production commitment, with 2,500 units of the Jimny rolling off the assembly line every month. However, it is worth noting that it’s unclear whether this production figure includes export numbers, which could further boost the SUV’s reach on the global stage. One interesting trend observed is the Jimny’s growing popularity in urban areas, as compared to its reception in rural markets. This suggests that the urban populace is increasingly drawn to the compact and versatile SUV, which offers both style and performance, making it a perfect fit for city life.

The Jimny lineup caters to a wide range of preferences, featuring three manual transmission (MT) variants and three automatic transmission (AT) variants. These options are complemented by a palette of five single-tone and two dual-tone paint schemes, allowing customers to personalize their Jimny according to their tastes. Under the hood, the Jimny is equipped with a 1.5-liter AT petrol engine capable of delivering 103 bhp and 136 Nm of torque. Customers can choose between a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission, providing flexibility to match their driving preferences.

As for pricing, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is competitively positioned, with its current range spanning from Rs. 12.74 lakh to Rs. 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom). This accessibility, combined with the stylish design and impressive performance, makes the Jimny a compelling choice in the ever-evolving Indian automotive landscape. The continuing high demand for the AT variants is a testament to the SUV’s growing popularity and the trust Maruti Suzuki has earned from its customers.
