Nissan has expanded its global footprint with the launch of the Made-in-India Magnite AMT in South Africa. This crossover, a product of Nissan’s commitment to quality manufacturing, will roll off the production lines at the brand’s Oragadam factory near Chennai, showcasing the prowess of Indian automotive manufacturing on the international stage. In the South African market, Nissan is offering the Magnite AMT in three variants – Visia, Acenta, and Acenta Plus, providing customers with a range of options to suit their preferences. The pricing starts at R234,900, making it an attractive proposition in its segment.

Under the hood, the Magnite AMT is equipped with a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, generating a respectable 71 BHP and 96 Nm of torque. The powerplant is mated to a responsive 5-speed AMT, offering both automatic and manual driving modes. The Magnite EZ-Shift gearbox comes with features like anti-stall, kick-down, and a unique creep function that facilitates low-speed driving without accelerator input, providing enhanced convenience in city traffic.

Safety and stability are paramount in the Magnite AMT, with features such as Vehicle Dynamic Control and Hill Start Assist coming as standard. These attributes contribute to a confident and secure driving experience for South African customers. When it comes to creature comforts and technology, the Magnite AMT doesn’t disappoint. Even the base variant boasts 16-inch steel wheels, a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, climate control, and power windows. The Acenta trim steps up the game with 16-inch alloy wheels and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The top-tier Acenta Plus variant elevates the experience with features like LED headlamps, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), and intelligent cruise control, providing a well-rounded package for discerning customers.
