Jeep Developing Creta Rival Based On Citroen C3 Aircross

Jeep is one of the most popular SUV brands in the world but the company is not able to replicate the same success in the Indian market as pricing is one of the key reasons for it. The Compass is currently the entry-level model of the Jeep in India but it is not a big volume model which is why the American manufacturer is developing a new compact SUV to rival the segment-best seller Hyundai Creta as this new model is going to be positioned below the Compass in Jeep’s lineup and it will be the new entry-level model of the company.

The upcoming SUV from Jeep is going to be based on the Citroen C3 Aircross platform as it will make the model more affordable and the company will be able to price it attractively. Citroen is also under the Stellantis brand which makes sense for Jeep to use this platform hence reducing the overall cost. We had reported that Jeep is planning to reduce the overall cost of manufacturing as the plans are already in the works. We can expect the company to give the benefits back to customers by reducing the cost.

Nothing much is known about the upcoming Creta rival but the Jeep version will get a completely new design theme when compared to the Citroen C3 Aricross and it will get better overall materials as it is one of the areas where the latter lacks. The C3 Aircross is expected to get a refresh next year and it will come with lots of new features to take on the rivals. Jeep’s new SUV will be powered by the same 1.2 L petrol engine as the C3 Aircross and it is expected to come with both manual and automatic transmission options.
