Hyundai To Expand Creta Lineup With Electric and N Line

Hyundai officially introduced the Creta facelift in India last week and the new model is expected to bring even more numbers than the outgoing model. According to new reports, the Korean manufacturer plans to expand the Creta lineup with more variants as scaling improves economics, resulting in better profits. The most important model among the new models is going to be the Electric version as it was spotted testing last year, which confirmed that the company is giving different design themes to differentiate both models.

The prototype spotted confirmed that the Creta Electric will come with a different front design along with new LED tail lamps while the interior could be similar to the ICE version but we can expect some changes to the instrument cluster and infotainment system. The electric version of the Creta will come with a 45 kWh battery pack and it is going to be supplied by LG Chem. This particular battery pack is already used in Kona EV and it produces 138 hp of power and 255 Nm of torque. But the battery pack is smaller compared to the competition. The Creta EV will be the first electric model from Hyundai for the mass market.

The next model in Creta’s lineup is going to be the N Line as the Korean manufacturer is planning to expand the N Line in India. The upcoming Creta N Line variant is going to be powered by the 1.5 L turbo petrol engine producing 160 hp of power and this engine will be mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Like the i20 N Line, we can expect some minor exterior tweaks to make the model unique while the exhaust system could be tuned differently to produce a sporty exhaust note. The Creta N Line launch is likely to take place by the middle of this year.
