Hyundai Next Launch In India Is Tucson Facelift

Hyundai Tucson facelift made its India debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. The Korean manufacturer was expected to launch the updated model of Tucson soon after Verna facelift but the nationwide lockdown changed plans as the company had to delay the launch of updated Verna, which took place on May 20th.

Tarun Garg, Business head of Hyundai India confirmed during an interview with Autocar India that the next launch of Hyundai in India will be the Tucson facelift model. The exterior changes of Tucson facelift are focused at the front as the SUV gets bigger signature grille of Hyundai along with new LED headlamps and updated bumper with new fog lamps.

The changes to side include a new set of alloy wheels, while the rear gets tweaked tail lamps and a new bumper. The Tucson facelift gets lots of changes for the interior as the company has updated the dashboard design. The steering wheel is a new three-spoke unit, which is similar to the i30 and the instrument cluster also gets a new design.

The centre console gets a new 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with the latest software of Hyundai. The company has added new features like a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, electric front seats, leather seats, rear camera, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, rear-AC vents, reverse camera with guidelines and more.

The Tucson facelift model is powered by 2.0 L diesel and petrol engines. Both these engines are updated to BS6 norms. The 2.0 L petrol engine puts out 150 hp and 192 Nm while the diesel engine produces 182 hp and 400 Nm. The former gets same 6-speed automatic gearbox from the earlier model but the latter comes with new 8-speed automatic.
