Hyundai i20 Facelift Teased For The First Time

Hyundai is gearing up to introduce the i20 facelift in India as the Korean manufacturer released the first teaser of the hatchback. The teaser image reveals the front design of the i20 and the major change is going to be the headlamps as the current model comes with projector units while the International model gets LED headlamps with this generation model and the India-spec i20 will finally change to newer LED headlamps with this update. Hyundai has also updated the front grille which looks wider than the current model with the Hyundai logo placed on the hood.

The side gets new alloy wheels while the rear gets LED tail lamps and they are expected to be connected like the global version. We can expect Hyundai to introduce some new colour options. Within the interior of the anticipated Hyundai i20 facelift, we can anticipate the addition of fresh features. Observers have caught glimpses of test models equipped with a dashboard camera, a versatile tool that proves valuable in various situations, including the gathering of evidence for insurance claims. Another potential enhancement for the i20 facelift is the inclusion of paddle shifters, a feature currently exclusive to the N Line variant of the i20.

When it comes to the engine options available for the i20 facelift, the choices remain consistent with the previous model. Buyers will retain the option to select between the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated engine, which delivers a maximum power output of 83 PS and a peak torque of 114.7 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and the innovative IVT. Alternatively, the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing 120 PS and 172 Nm of torque, is also available. This potent engine pairs seamlessly with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (7-DCT) for a dynamic driving experience.
