Hyundai Creta Facelift Score 5-Star Safety Rating In ASEAN NCAP Crash Test

Hyundai Creta facelift which was launched in the Indonesian market earlier in November 2021 has scored an impressive 5-star rating at the ASEAN NCAP crash test. This model is now being sold in other Asian countries like the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, Malaysia & Vietnam. The India spec model the pre-facelift Creta was able to score only an average 3-star rating at the GLOBAL NCAP. The new facelift Creta is expected to launch in India by mid-2023.

The Indonesia-made Creta has scored a 5-star rating for both adult and child protection with 27.78 points out of 32 and 39.67 points out of 51 respectively, for the safety assist systems the create managed to score 14.79 points out of 21 and for motorcyclist safety, the Creta managed to score 9.14 out of 16. The adult protection test includes frontal impact, side impact & head protection tests whereas for the child occupant protection test includes dynamic test, vehicle-based, installation and child detection tests.

The safety assist features test includes effective braking and avoidance, seatbelt reminders, autonomous emergency braking and advanced safety assist technologies. Looking into the Indian car market Tata Motors & Mahindra are setting the benchmarks for a maximum 5-star safety cars lineup, which largely inputs other manufacturers also to give concerns on the safety. We can expect the body changes on ASEAN-spec to be translated in the Indian model too.
