Honda Revealed New Logo At CES

Honda unveiled a new logo at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The last time Honda introduced a redesign of its iconic “H mark” was 43 years ago. However, this time, the change is not just for looks but signifies a significant shift towards the future of mobility—electric vehicles (EVs). The new logo is set to be introduced with the upcoming “next-generation EVs of Honda,” marking a departure from the ICE vehicles in the current lineup. The company emphasizes that the existing logo, consistent since 1981 with a subtle update in the early 2000s, will persist for traditional vehicles.

What makes this logo redesign intriguing is its homage to Honda’s past. Drawing inspiration from the original H mark used in the 1960s, the revamped design carries a retro vibe while embracing a contemporary aesthetic. Honda sees this redesign as a celebration of the development of their next-generation EVs, aligning with the global push towards sustainable transportation. Unveiling the logo alongside two new electric concepts, the Saloon and the Space-Hub, at CES adds another layer of excitement.

While Honda’s official statement about the logo’s design is succinct, describing it as representing “Honda’s commitment to augment the possibilities of mobility and sincerely serve the needs of the users of Honda EVs,” the visual departure from the previous logo is evident. One notable change is the absence of the familiar outline around the logo, a feature synonymous with the H mark for decades. Despite this departure, the new design has generated enthusiasm among fans and industry observers. The anticipation now lies in witnessing how this fresh logo will be integrated into Honda’s upcoming electric vehicle lineup, adding an element of style and modernity to the brand’s commitment to advancing the future of mobility.
