Google To Soon Introduce Chrome Application On Android Auto

CES is one of the most exciting tech events and this year we have seen several interesting concepts along with updates. Google is planning to introduce multiple updates for the Android Auto. One of the biggest updates is going to be the integration of the Chrome app into the Android Auto ecosystem. The tech giant has already initiated the beta rollout of the Chrome app to select Volvo and Polestar models, with plans to expand its availability later in the year. This integration brings the familiar Chrome experience to the car’s infotainment system, offering users access to the browser’s Android tablet UI. However, it’s worth noting that the Chrome app can only be utilized when the vehicle is parked for safety reasons.

Once activated, users can navigate through the browser using a tablet-style interface displayed on the car’s infotainment screen. The Chrome app will showcase a recognizable new tab page and provide the convenience of synced bookmarks, ensuring a seamless transition for users accustomed to the desktop or mobile versions. In addition to the Chrome app integration, Android Auto is delving deeper into the electric vehicle landscape. The updated platform will enable electric vehicles to share real-time battery information with Google Maps, allowing for a more accurate estimation of the remaining battery level at the destination.

This enhancement aims to alleviate range anxiety by providing users with crucial insights for their journeys. Furthermore, Android Auto introduces a “send to car” option alongside the traditional “start” button, enhancing the connectivity between devices and vehicles. Users can seamlessly transfer information and directions from their mobile devices to the car’s navigation system. The expansion of the Android Auto app ecosystem also includes the incorporation of popular apps such as PBS Kids and Crunchyroll, diversifying the entertainment options available to users during their journeys.
