Exclusive: Hyundai Creta EV New Steering Wheel Spied

Hyundai is working on the Creta EV as the test mule has been spotted multiple times across the country. For the first time, we spotted the interior of the Creta EV. The spy shot reveals that the Creta will come with a new steering wheel which is different from the electric version as it appears to be a two-spoke unit with lots of buttons to control the infotainment system and instrument cluster. We can also see a silver finish on the steering wheel and the prototype doesn’t come with the Hyundai logo as the final model will come with it.

The interior appears to be finished in a different colour when compared to the ICE model. The instrument cluster is the same unit from the facelift version, which was launched in January while the rest of the interior is still under the covers. The global model of the Creta EV gets the same design as the facelift model. The front gets full-length LED DRLs and LED headlamps but the grille will be fully covered like other electric models and the Hyundai logo will be placed on the hood instead of the grille.

The side design is similar to the regular Creta facelift model as the changes include new 17-inch alloy wheels and for the first time, we could see the aero parts on the alloy wheels as the test mules spotted in India came with regular alloy wheels. Apart from this, we can expect some changes to the bumper, which will further reduce the drag. The rear gets LED tail lamps and some minor tweaks to the bumper. The Creta EV will be powered by a 45 kWh battery pack and it is expected to be shared with the Kona EV as it produces 138 hp and 255 Nm. The battery will be shared by LG Chem and we can expect a real-world range of 250 km.
