Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV To Be Officially Revealed On March 27th

Citroen is going to officially reveal the much-awaited C3X production model on March 27th and this new model is christined as Basalt in which the company mentioned as a coupe SUV. This upcoming model is going to be a direct rival for the upcoming Tata Curvv. The French manufacturer will initially reveal the exterior design theme of the coupe SUV as the interior is expected to be revealed at a later stage. The Basalt Coupe SUV is going to be the third product based on the CMP platform of Citroen.

Like the existing C3 products, we can expect the design theme of the new Basalt Coupe SUV to be inspired by them as the company wants to give a family look to the products. The front gets the signature grille of Citroen while the headlamps are expected to be LED units or projectors as most of the competitors on a similar price point offer them. The ground clearance is likely to be slightly higher than usual as it will be one of the big USPs of the product. Apart from this, the coupe design theme will make it stand out.

The rear is expected to come with LED tail lamps and a new design for the bumper with integrated faux skid plates. Like most of the Citroen products, the company will offer lots of customising options along with different colours. The interior could be inspired by the current C3 models but the Coupe SUV will be loaded with features so the company won’t make the same mistake as earlier. The engine might be the same 1.2 L turbocharged unit on the C3 Aircross and an automatic gearbox might be offered from the get-go. The sales of the Basalt Coupe SUV is expected to begin by the middle of this year.
